F's FIRST Birthday!

It wouldn't be a taco birthday if we didn't start the day at the beach!

The birthday boy had to take a quick nap first thing to prep for his big day!

After the beach (no pics... having too much fun!) we headed back to camp and decided to make birthday cake on the campstove.  Turns out that if you put a few rocks in the bottom of a cast iron pot, then add an inch of water, then mix up a box of brownies, you can scoop the batter into little foil packets and steam for 30 minutes.  Afterward, voila, chocolate lava camping cake.  Scroll down to see if it was a success...
Adjacent to our campsite (and what made site 23 so amazing) as a few trees that had grown together in a little glen.  Underneath was this little hideout that we decided was a charming spot to celebrate a birthday.  M had grabbed a few streamers from the grocery when we stopped, so the tacos got to festoon the canopy with all sorts of colorful decorations.
F and I waited for a taste of that bday cake...

The light was streaming in through the trees.
The birthday feast consisted of 1 can coconut milk + 1 can black beans + 1 can corn.  Mix together and serve with fresh guacamole.  We all ate eleventeen bowls of it.

 Happy Birthday F!
 What a party.

And finally, the cake!  Yum, it was sooo good!
But very, very rich.  Give me some water after that!
All in all, a smashing success.
 One year old!

Where did the other two tacos spend the evening?  In the tree, of course!  Can you spot N up there?
 I see you, bro.
And S was happy to kick off her shoes and shimmy up there, too.
 Who's rocking the boat?

 Adventures, for sure.

Me and my baby.  Oops, my toddler.
 Time for bath!
 It's a tight squeeze
Goodnight, Manresa.
