Burke Museum

We had to run some errands in Seattle, so decided to drop by the Burke Museum on the UW Seattle campus.

Dinosaurs!
Fossils!
Periscopes!
Actually, a double helping of dinosaurs.
Also, some very interesting exhibits on native cultures.  The face painting on these women was fantastic!
Should a 1 year old have this much fun at a museum of natural history?

The last dandelions of the season, I'm afraid.
The first yellow leaves of the season!
Look who's walking like a big taco now?
Have I mentioned that this little meatball is really, really into planes?  If he even hears a faint rumble he starts jumping around and pointing at the sky.  He cracks up laughing when he finds it - what a puzzle it must be for him!
Definitely an alien spaceship from another world.  What else could it possibly be?

Look up... the leaves are starting to fall!

 My little tree climber.
Hey... how'd you get up there?  I want up there, too.
 Look at me!
In front of the library at UW Seattle.  A bit more pomp and circumstance here than at our little Tacoma campus!
Lots of room to run, and a pretty blue sky that just popped out to surprise us!
 There he goes...
Yep, you guessed it.  Another airplane.  Actually, we saw a bunch of sea planes - now that there's a seaplane port in Tacoma, maybe we'll see more around these parts?
This guy is one tough cookie to wrangle.  Glad it's not my job!
At the fountain.  It was all we could do to keep them all from swan diving right in!
Today's treasures included:
feathers
leaves to be worn as fairy wings
3 acorns
1 magical button
1 penny

This girl is going to be a collector!
