The Fair!

We started the day with some hot dogs at Don's Drive In in Puyallup.  Yummy.

We arrived a tad early (who knew the Fair didn't open until 2pm today?!) so we walked around and found a patch of grass to cop a squat.
Everyone had on their "spring" attire.  Brrrr.  We're not in Cali anymore!
There was much to discuss.
Popcorn vs. cotton candy.
Petting zoo vs. carousel.
Pigs or goats first?
Piglets first.  Baby Ph wins again!
We all got to nominate a photograph for the "People's Choice" competition.

N chose the "horse and buggy", as he called it.
S picked the kittens stuck in the tree.
Then we hit up the petting zoo.  They needed to make a game plan before beginning.
N made sure that everyone knew the rules before they approached the herd.
Contact!  We have goat contact!
S fell in love with these pygmy goats.
Is it worrisome if both kids thought the goat reminded them of our poodle?  I knew she was dumb, but seriously...

Yes, yes. The pygmy goats really are this adorable in person.
Her wool was so stiff - I can't imagine it being made into yarn!  Maybe they only shear the summer wool for yarn?  My farming knowledge leaves much to be desires.
Baby lop bunny.  Awww.
Baby chick.  Ewww.
If I could have snuck one of these lops into my purse I totally would have.  Or maybe I could have bid on one?  Only $10/an ounce!
An interactive junk sculpture with drum sticks.  What more could a kid ask for?
N was rocking out.

A crashed motorcycle on display.  Made me regret telling M that he could get one once his tenure is approved.  No motorcycle for you, kiddo!
The tacos with the Daffodil Princesses.

The bird display had real parrots.  Can you see the white parrot in the background?
These sweet ladies helped the tacos make some arts and crafts necklaces.
Piglet races!  And the prize?  An oreo cookie on a silver platter!  Now that's something I'd consider racing for.
G'Day, mate!  These Wallabies were happy to throw another shrimp on the barbie for us.
Last request.  Ice cream.  Made with liquid nitrogen, of all things. This newfangled technology, who can keep up with it?
No complaints from this peanut gallery.
We ran into this guy on our way out.  He was hilarious, and could cut a piece of celery with a playing card.  S called it an airplane card, since he threw it like a paper airplane.
